Seasonal Missions through LFUMC

We here at LFUMC are focus on a few very special populations as we give Jesus away during the Advent/Christmas Season.

Norristown Stockings
Every year Carol H. organizes and collects the materials for stockings for the residents of Norristown State Hospital. (Thanks Carol!) We stuff the stockings the last Sunday in November following Worship.

Methodist Services Toy Drive
This annual drive for the more than 1600 impoverished children participating in local Methodist Services’ programs runs from November 1 – December 6. Please bring new, unwrapped toys, books, gift cards, or monetary donations to the church. Need ideas? Pick up a list today and thanks for giving.

PAHrtner’s Christmas Pizza Party, Dingo & Live Nativity
We have a Pizza Party with plenty of fresh cookies and gifts to spare on the 1st Sunday of Advent for our Deaf friends! After lunch we all join in to tell the story of Christ’s birth and play a round of Dingo!  Bring a mug of candy for the prize table and plan to join us for this wonderful celebration together.

Women’s Missions
At the Women’s Christmas Party the first Tuesday in December we collect gifts for various mission efforts.  This year we are collecting for the residents of Edgehill Nursing Home for our annual Christmas celebration with them on the second Sunday in December.  Bring small hand lotions, puzzle books and good socks to the party on December 7th at 7 pm at the Cerino’s home!

Christmas at Edgehill Nursing Home & Rehab
On the second Sunday of December we visit Edgehill NHR for a special Christmas worship beginning at 2:00 pm with caroling and the Christmas Story.  We have cookies, ornaments and simple bagged gifts for the residents.

“What can I do?”

Sing carols, hug and smile, buy a scholarship certificate, stuff a stocking, bring a toy, drop off needed items, and be present as we become the arms and face of Jesus to a whole lot of people.
