“Both the One who makes people holy and those who are made holy are of the same family. So Jesus is not ashamed to call them brothers and sisters.”
Hebrews 2:11

It’s hard to believe that we are of the same family.  We are totally different.

Different likes, different tastes, different traditions, decor and practices – because we didn’t grow up together.

But we breathe the same air and walk the same good earth.

We share the same name because we have the same Daddy and that makes us family even if we deny the fact.

We share the same blood because we have the same Brother – and His blood is powerful.

We are family because we are Christians.

Not because we go to a particular place to worship or worship in a particular way; though we should never stop gathering to worship the Lord who alone is worthy.

Not because our names are printed on the page of a register under the heading “Members”; though our names need to be written in the Lamb’s book of Life.

Not because anyone did anything to us or for us involving water or oil or prayer or some other thing; though baptism and oil and prayer are important.

We are Christians because we believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Messiah, the Savior of the world and we have surrendered our lives to Him.

We are family in all our diversity because Jesus was slain for us and with His blood He redeemed us for God from every tribe and language and people and nation.

We are one because Christ only has one Body and He is the Head.

It’s so simple and we have managed to make it so very complex.

Do you believe God? “And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to Him must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who earnestly seek Him.”  Hebrews 11:6

Did you surrendered your life to Jesus? Then He said to them all: ‘Whoever wants to be My disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow Me.  For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for Me will save it.  What good is it for someone to gain the whole world, and yet lose or forfeit their very soul?”  Luke 9:23-25

Have you received the Holy Spirit?  “The person without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God but considers them foolishness, and cannot understand them because they are discerned only through the Spirit.” 1 Corinthians 2:14

Welcome to the Family!

But what does it say? “The Word is near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart,” that is, the message concerning faith that we proclaim:  If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.  For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.”
Romans 10:8-10
